Freestone County, Texas Social News of 1918 (Communities around the County) Local News Items from Luna *1* Jan. 21 - Our community is white with snow this morning, and there was still some left on the ground which fell ten days ago. We have had the worst spell that we have had for forty-two years. Lots of cattel will have to have help to get through the winter. Lots of sickness here. Clint Knight has been right sick, but is improving. Mrs. Baty is right sick with measles. Some of Mrs. McDaniel's family have the measles. On the night of the snow Dr. Suttle started out in his buggy to visit a patient, got in a snow drift and his horse broke the buggy shafts out. He said he stepped out of the buggy and went up to his pockets in the snow.
