Youngblood and children, Grace, Christina, and Mozell, of San Antonio, spent the week-end at the home of Mrs. Youngblood's father, A. A. Stroud. Newborn, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Richardson, is ill with pneumonia. Miss Arnie May Harrison was successfully operated on for appendicitis last Friday at Davidson's hospital. Algy Stroud of Ft. Worth spent the week-end with home folks. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thompson and children, Modene, Ralph and Hazel Marie, of Teague, visited here Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Cothran of Luna visited friends here last Saturday. Hollis Lambert will leave this week for Tyler where he will enter school. Ed Blakely went to Teague Sunday. John Clery of Dew was here Tuesday. PYBURN We are certainly thankful for the beautiful weather we are having and hope it will continue. Mrs. George Lester and little stepson of Houston have been visiting Mrs. Lester's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. McNew. Miss Pauline Hullum spent Saturday night with Miss Maycie McNew. Miss Gladys and Lorena Lewis were visitors here Sunday. Mrs. Charlie Glanton has been quite ill this week. Miss Pauline Hullum and Maycie McNew spent the day Sunday with Miss Eula Mae Pickett. Mrs. Rosser is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Hullum. ================================= FEB 24, 1928 COUNTY CORRESPONDENCE POST OAK Mrs. Chas. Jolly went to Cedar last Friday to visit her parents who are ill. Mrs. H. L. Williford of Fairfield visited here Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Cooper of Hubbard visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cooper, here Sunday. Hollis Lambert, who has been attending the Tyler Commerical College, returned home ill Sunday. The Pastors' and Workers' Conference met here Friday. The dinner was a success and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The pastors present were the Revs. H. D. Parnell, R. L. Ryburn, R. G. Christian, H. L. McKissack; Bro. Watson, the county missionary, and Bro. Barger. A. A. Stroud and family were visiting in Teague Sunday. Mrs. J. R. B. Cain has been ill several days. E. J. Lambert, Lonnie Lambert and Carmel Blakely were in Corsicana Sunday. BIG RABBIT HUNT Last Saturday, Ellis Chappell, Atha Orand and Douglas Fryer made a raid on rabbits by killing thirty four. ... ================================= MARCH 9, 1928 YOUNG We did not have preaching Sunday on account of so much sickness in the community. Having notified the pastor beforehand, he did not come. Mrs. Carrie Henderson has been sick the past few days. Little Barney and Clifford Coates are sick with fever also little Eloise and Dorothy Fay Granberry. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Young and children were in Corsicana Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Callie Barker of Ranger are visiting, Mrs. Barker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Newman. Walter Cole begs to inform this writer that he did one good day's work last week - Saturday I think. But from the size crop he is putting in we predict that he will put in more than one day a week hereafter. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Donaldson and baby spent a few days last week visiting in Dallas and Fort Worth. Mr. and Mrs. Woolsey Ingram and baby, Beatrice, spent the week-end with relatives near Turlington. .... Fred Young is very sick at this writing. Mrs. Wooten, principal of our school, is giving her pupils examinations today. Roger Young, Jr., and sister Margaret, are sick today, Wednesday. Andrew Tate is sick with the flu. POST OAK Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jolly and children visited relatives at Cedar, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Lambert and little son of Stewards Mill, visited homefolks here last Wednesday night. Miss Winona Cain of Teague visited at the home of her uncle, J. R. B. Cain, last week. Mr. and Mrs. Luke Cooper of Hubbard were visiting here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Thompson and children, and Mrs. Alma Chavers of Teague, were here Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Glazener are entertaining a new baby girl at their home, born on the 26th of February. Mrs. W. O. Cain of Teague spent several days with relatives here last week. Stroud, Sunday afternoon. Glynn Emmons and son and daughter, Olan and Zelda, of Mt. Zion visited here Sunday. Mrs. Abe Chavers of Fairfield and mother, Mrs. Gray, of Houston, visited relatives here last week. Lonnie Lambert and Edd Blakely went to Teague Saturday night. Misses Arnia May Harrison and Lois Baker were guests of Misses Nora Lee and Lydia Ivy, near Fairfield, Sunday. Sim Chavers, Jr., spent last week-end with his aunt, Mrs. Abe Chavers at Fairfield. Loyd James and mother of Fairfield, visited Mrs. J. F. Baker, Sunday. L. G. Emmons spent hte weekend with home folks at Mt. Zion. Mrs. Fred Richardson is sick this week. Hollis Lambert returned home, Sunday, from Tyler where he has been attending school. The Rev. Ryburn will fill his regular appointment here Sunday. Everybody come to church. Mr. and Mrs. Price Shields, Mr. and Mrs. Boss Cockerell, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Baker spent the last few days visiting relatives in Bell County. Miss Evelyn Daniel is visiting relativesm, Mrs. Ernest Newman and family here. Joe Casey, Sr., who has been in Teague taking treatment for paralysis, has returned home. His condition is much improved. John Russ Newman is the latest case of measles we have in our community. STEWARDS MILL Mr. Charlie Bonner is guest of C. B. Robinson family this week. Misses Ruth and Hazel Lee of Teague and Herman Stokes of Mexia and J. V. Porter were guests of Miss Katherine Steward Sunday. The Rev. and Mrs. D. K. Compton of Teague are visiting their daughter, Mrs. Ed Watson. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bonner and family were in Mexia recently. N. A. Lafevre and family were in Wortham recently. Dr. Kissler of Pittsburg, Pa., secretary of Home Missions of the United Presbyterians, and Dr. McStavic, pastor of Corsicana Presbyterian Church, were here Monday in interest of mission work. Mrs. C. B. Steward, Ed Watson, and Rev. D. K. Compton and wife were in Dew Monday afternoon. The Thorntons, W. W. Steward and wife, the Weldons, W. A. Bonner, Mrs. John Watson and Mrs. Chas. Teer, spent Wednesday at the river bridge. Rev. J. W. Simpson filled his regular appointment here Sunday at the Presbyterian church. Miss Bettie Bonner is in Corsicana for medical treatment. A. H.
