Fairfield Recorder newspaper - Oct 30 1930 issue 

  NEW GAS STATION 
                NOW IN OPERATION
                
  The new filling station just completed at the crossing of the two highways
[ Hwy 84 (a.k.a. Commerce Street in city limits) and Hwy 75 ] in the West part 
of twon is now in operation. The station was built by Tom Bonner for the Gulf Co., 
and is operated by Frank McDonald and J. F. Huckaby, local boys.
