Donie defeated Kirven 16 to 17 in finals, played at Buffalo gym, Saturday night. In a system all Freestone's own results in the first round were: Donie 26, Kirven 23; Streetman 28, Dew 23; Fairfield 23, Wortham 8; Teague 23, Freestone 21. Second round: Donie 29, Teague 14; Kirven 42, Dew 19; Fairfield 24, Teague 22; Freestone 41, Wortham 21. Third round: Kirven 30, Teague 26; Donie 18, Fairfield 16; Streetman 26, Freestone 24. Semi-finals: Kirven 24, Fairfield 22; Donie 23, Streetman 11. MAN KILLED AT DEW IN WRECK Arthur Sullivan, 55, of Centerville, was killed instantly early Wednesday near Dew on Highway 75 in Freestone county, when his car was reported to have been crowded off the highway. Two companions halted passing motorists who brought the body to Fairfield. Page 6 MRS. SARAH BOND BURIED THRUSDAY AT PT. ENTERPRISE Mrs. Sarah E. Bond, 68 years old, was buried in Point Enterprise community cemetery Thrusday afternoon following services conducted by the Rev. W. R. Blackmon, a neighboring minister, at the family home. Mrs. Bond died of an attack of influenze at her Point Enterprise home after illness which had confined her to her bed for 12 years. She was the wife of F. B. Bond, prominent farmer, and had resided at Point Enterprise since 1900. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bond is survived by three children, Mrs. Alton Kerzee, Pt. Enterprise; John T. Bond, Ft. Worth, and Mrs. Vernon Cox, of Pt. Enterprise, and the following stepchildren: D. L. Bond of Ackerley, Texas; Mrs. H. C. Callaway, of Lamesa, Texas; George S. Bond, Crosbyton, Texas; Mrs. A. D. Creel, of Bayton, Texas; Bowlen Bond, county attorney of Freestone county, Fairfield; Mrs. J. A. Shumaker, of Tuscon, Ariz., and Miss Ava Bond of Dallas. Two sisters, Mrs. Ed Tooke, of Fallon, and Mrs. Ollie Harris, Teague, and two brothers, Henry Callaway, Temple, and Tom Callaway, Streetman. The John R. Corley company was in charge of the funeral. ================================================================= Dallas Morning News November 24, 1936 Section: I; Page: Twelve Auto Injuries Fatal to Fairfield Resident Special to the News CORSCIANA, Texas, Nov. 23 - D. O. Keller, 53, Fairfield cafe operator, died Monday of injuries received in an automobile wreck on Highway 75 two miles north of Corsicana Saturday. His death was the twenty first highway fatality in Navarro County this year. Marion Willard, 26, also of Fairfield, the only other occupant of the machine, was not injured. The two men were on the way home from Dallas when the car in which they were ridding was reported to have struck another machine, when the driver was blinded by the lights of a third car.
