Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Platt during the week-end were Mrs. Platt's mother. Mrs. Mary Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Foster, and Mr. and Mrs. Edd DeRush. W. T. Simpson, recently discharged from the Army and now of Kerens, visited friends and relatives here Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Blair and family, and Mrs. Allie Carlile of Spur visited relatives in the community during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Beauchamp of Corsicana visited Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Massey Sunday. Mrs. Capp Phipps and daughter, Dorothy, of Dallas spent the week-end at home. Miss Lynn Walker of Dallas was visiting friends and relatives over the week-end. Miss Rena Mae Haywood of Streetman was the guest of Miss Helen Rash over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Bonner have returned home from Corsicana where Mr. Bonner underwent medical treatment. Miss Minnie Jean Hagler was the guest of Miss Barbara Walker in Rice last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Brown of Corsicana visited his mother, Mrs. C. E. Roney, Sunday. Frank Childress of Corsicana was a visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bonner last week. Winkler has recently had two new businesses to open. One grocery is in the old Ferguson store under the management of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Ferguson, the other is a new establishment and building managed by John Frederick Hagler, recently discharged from the Armed Services. Mrs. Lonnie Wright and daughter, Willie Mae of Providence, visited friends in the community Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Melton, Mr. and Mrs. Strickland and son, Hiram of Rochester, were guests in the B. D. Pillans home last week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Johnson and daughters, Jewell and Jettie Belle of Corsicana, visited their daughter, Mrs. Dudley Minze, Sunday. Mrs. Emmett Ferguson had as guests last week her parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. Cashion of Sanford, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Bigham of Dallas visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Bingham, last week. Allan Knight of Rosedale spent several days last week with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Knight. C. C. Jeffries made a business trip to Austin last week. Mrs. Mary Robison of Dallas spent Wednesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T.
