Fairfield Recorder newspaper - May 22, 1969 edition Edd Bonner To Fill Unexpired Term Of Late Mr. Harris Appointment of Edd Bonner to fill the unexpired term of Hugh Harris as commissioner of Fair- field Precinct 1 was announced last week by Travis Evans, county judge of Freestone County. Mr. Harris, who had been county commissioner for the past eigh[t] and a half years, died Tuesday, May 13. The new commissioner, a well- known rancher, is Past Master [of] the Fairfield Masonic Lodge, Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and treasurer and member of the Official Board of the First United Methodist Church. He and his wife, the former An- gie Watson, have two sons, Mike, a teacher in the Austin public school system, and Andy, a stu- dent at Stephen F. Austin State College in Nacogdoches. Other members of the Commis- sion are Asa Pickett, Teague Pre- cinct 2; Spurgeon Pickens, Butler- Dew Precinct 3, and Hubert Was- son, Wortham Precinct 4.
