Mrs. Dockery and Mrs. Coleman received their 50-year awards a few years ago and were special guests for this presentation [main article:] Clara And Laura Bonner Honored As 50-Year Members of Eastern Star Here Fairfield Chapter No. 331 Order of the Eastern Star had a banquet Frida[y], Feb 9, at Don's Restaurant to honor two 50 year members, Mrs. Clara bonner and Mrs. Laura Bonner. Both of these ladies were initiated into Fairfield Chapter and both are Past Matrons. Mrs. Laura Bonner served as Deputy Grand Matron in 1942-43. They have been faithful members and are well known in this section as being dedicated to the great moral purposes of the Order. The tables were decorated with the five pointed Eastern Star Emblem and appropraite certificate scrolls. Mrs. Estella Nelson, Worthy Matron, was master of ceremonies. An invocation was sung by the group. The program consisted of a reading, "The Bridge Builder" given by Mrs. Anie Bonner and "Give Us This Day" sung by Miss Julie Ann Childs, accompained by Miss Joan Hill at the piano. Mrs. Nelson introduced Mes. Eleanor Bien, Deputy Grand Matron of District I, Section 6, who gave the purpose and aims of the Order and presented 50 year Membe[r]ship Certificates to the Mrs. Bonners. The benediction was given by L. G. Daugherty, Worthy Patron. Two other 50 year members of Fairfield Chapter were honored guests, Mrs. Sallie Coleman and Mrs. Lucille Dockery. They received their awards several years ago. Ninety-two members and friends registered from Palestine, Tennessee Colony, Corsicana, Malakoff, Dublin, Dallas, Port Aransas, Tyler, Austin and Fairfield.
