Freestone County, Texas Communities Old Ghost Towns - Never had a post office: Beulah Beulah was located about a mile or less east of Kirvin on the road between Kirvin and Ward Prairie. Locals in communities of Bonner (a.k.a. Woodland) and Enon write about events at Beulah. Like a number of small communities in the area, Beulah began fading after Kirvin grew because of its railroad access. Grindstone Creek drains the area. Woods Chapel was located about a mile southwest of Beulah. A popular Thanksgiving happened at the Beulah school in Nov. 1896. *1* Andra Cyrus was a popular fortune teller at Beulah.
