Ferries and Other Landmarks When Floating Down the Trinity River:

Ferries have existed since the formation of Freestone County, Texas along the 
Trinity River which forms the eastern border of Freestone County.  

From upriver going downstream to the south, a 1918 map lists these river 
landmarks:

Wildcat Ferry (near Navarro county line)
<Richland Creek flows into the Trinity River>
<Highland Ridge>
<Stroude Fish-Hole just east of Timber Lake>
Goode Ferry (listed as abandoned in 1918)
Cook Ferry (just east of Cook Lake)
<Tyrus Bluff>  (actually a misprint of Tyus Bluff)
Tylers Ferry (where Indian Creek flows into Trinity, north of Patterson Lake)
<West Point Hill> (north of Blue Lake) <558 miles downstream to the Gulf of Mexico>
Bonners Ferry (east of Gilbert Lake)
