Freestone County, Texas Communities Old Ghost Towns - with former Post office: Ivory The Ivory community was traditionally an Africian American community located about about three miles east of Teague. Ivory was about a mile and a half northwest of Dew and about three miles northeast of Mills. Ivory had a post office between July 1, 1902 and Dec. 31, 1907. There were a number of churches in the area: Jerusalem Church a quarter mile to the northeast, Stoney Point Church a quarter mile to the southwest, and Avant Church a quarter mile to the south east.
