Freestone County, Texas Towns Lakeport The Lakeport community is located about 2 miles east of Butler towards the Trinity River. West Point Hill and Blue Lake is about 1/2 mile northeast of Lakeport. Lakeport has traditionally benefited from being on the road to Palestine located in Anderson County. The road crosses into Anderson County at the site of the old Bonner Ferry near Gilbert Lake. The Saline Branch runs by Lakeport and then flows into Blue Lake. Lakeport was an Africian American community. Post Office: 27 Feb 1907 to 30 Jun 1909.
