Oak Grove


The Oak Grove community was about two miles north of Stewards Mill along the 
road that ran into Navarro County about three miles east of Streetman.  The
Oak Grove community was a traditionally Africian-American community.  The 
ranch lands in the area are drained by Tehuacana Creek and Collard Branch.

A 1918 soil map shows the Oak Grove Church.  At the time, it was a mile and
a half east of Rischer's Store and north of Rhode Island Church and Stewards
Mill.
