Pine Top

Pine Top was located about 1/2 mile north of Butler in the eastern part of 
Freestone County. Pine Top was a traditionally Africian-American community.
The area around Pine Top is drained by Rocky Ford or Hickory Branch. The 
branch is called Gaston Branch in modern times.

In 1891, the school enrollment was 40 compared to Butler's 23 at the time.
