Freestone County, Texas Communities Old Ghost Towns - Never had a post office: Washington The beginnings of Washington pre-date Teague. Its old wooden school would later be a part of the Teague ISD when it started in 1907. Later as part of Teague, a brick building called Booker T. Washington school built in 1909 taught many of the black residents of Teague. School: Washington School (#108) (later listed as the Booker T. Washington school) had 30 African American pupils in 1887 had 54 African American pupils in 1893-4 had 31 black students in 1895-6 had 43 black students in 1896-7 had 37 black students in 1897-8 had 23 black pupils in 1898-9 had 29 black pupils in 1899-1900 had 26 black pupils in 1900-1 had 25 black pupils in 1903-4 had 30 black pupils in 1904-5 part of the Teague ISD in 1907 new brick building in 1909 as part of the Teague ISD
