Freestone County, Texas Communities Old Ghost Towns - Never had a post office: Wayman Chapel/Waymen Chapel/Waymon Chapel Wayman Chapel was located about 3 miles north of Butler in the eastern part of Freestone County. Wayman Chapel was near New Bethel Church. The area around Wayman Chapel is drained by Gaston Branch. Wayman Chapel appears on maps from 1918. Wayman is marked "Waymen" shown between Alum Branch (to the north) and the Gaston Branch (to the south) on a map from 1961. Wayman was located not far south of the old Sand Hill community. A 1964 map by the U.S. Geological Society of the Butler Quadrangle shows it as "Waymon Chapel".
