Since January 1850 How long resided in Freestone County? Since 1850 What State was the command you served? Texas from 1861-1864, Co. "B" Parson's Regiment, Cavalry Signed 9 March, 1922 F. H. Groover signs as witness to military service F.H. Groover, states that he was a member of Company "B" Parson's Regiment, Cavalry, and actually served with R.F. Chandler for more than 18 months in the Confederate Army. C.E. Grayson states that he was present when R.F. Chandler enlisted and saw said R.F.Chandler leave for service in the confederate army, and that he also served in said army but in another Company and Reg. and that he further knows that R.F. Chandler returned from the army about 1864. from the War Dept., The Adjutant General's Office: R.F. Chandler private, Co. B 12th Texas Calvary. (Parson's Regiment, Mounted Volunteers 4th Texas Dragoons) enlisted Oct 28, 1861, at Camp Herbert, near Hempstead. Company muster roll for Sept. 1 to Dec. 31, 1863, dated Dec. 18, 1864 (only one on file) shows him absent in Texas wounded, leg amputated. No later record found.
