His command was at Eagle Pass, on the Rio Grand River in Texas. He was 68 years old when he applied. He was born in Pickens Co., AL and had lived in Texas for 60 years—Teague for 54 years. He was in the market business. He joined in the spring of 1862 and served until the end of the war. He was in Waul’s Legion, 2nd Battalion. He transferred to Company G, Pyron’s Regiment, 2nd Texas Cavalry. He was captured 4 July 1863 at Vicksburg, MS. He was paroled there on 9 July 1863. They were married 11 October 1872 in Freestone Co. Margaret was 68 years old, born in Anderson Co., TX and lived in Texas all of her life. He served in the Infantry, she though in Captain Bradley’s Company. A.E. Evans and Mrs. S.G. Riley were witnesses. Her homestead was valued at “nothing” on the tax rolls. Margaret died in Teague 20 December 1930.
