Funeral services were held Tuesday in Corinth Baptist Church in Dew. The Rev. H.L. McKissack of the Cedar Baptist Church officiated. Interment was at Compton Cemetery in Dew. Mrs. Ayers was born October 4, 1894 in Dew and had been a lifetime resident of Freestone County. She was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving are her husband, Wilton Ayers of Dew, two daughters, Mary Wright of Grand Prairie and Amy Airheart of Kerens; six sons, Henry W. Ayers of Lubbock, John R. Ayers of Irving, Byron W. Ayers of West Union, Iowa, Darry Z. Ayers of Cleburne, Bryan K. Ayers and Felix D. Ayers, both of Dew; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lane of Dallas, Mrs. Willie Nash of Teague and Ione Webb of Navasota; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
