Abbott Funeral Services Held April 15 Funeral services for Lloyd Olen Abbott, 85, of Forest Glade were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15 in Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Reverend Bill Wright of ficiating. Interment followed in New Hope Cemetery in Freestone County, with military services by the Air Force Honor Guard. Mr. Abbott was born January 11, 1921 in Benjamin, Texas and passed away on March 13, 2006 in Haven Nursing Home. His parents were Almeda Cupp and James Albert Abbott. He served with the 36th Infantry Division during World War II and was prisoner of war during that time. He retired from the Air Force after 21 years and then worked 13 years as food service captain for Texas Department of Corrections. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Leta Blanche Abbott of Forest Glade; daughters: Lloydette Abbott Harris of Forest Glade and Patsy Dianne Pipkin of Hunstville; son, Michael Ray Abbott of Mexia; grandchildren: John Wesley Pipkin and Diana Leigh Pipkin of Huntsville, Jennifer Lynn Harris of Palestine, Mary Jane Hopson of Houston, Deana Harris-Crook of Arlington, Steven Dirk Pipkin and Janet Dianne Wyatt, both of Huntsville, Christy Michelle Smith of Houston, Brandy Jean Cooper of Groesbeck, Courtney, Merideth Abbott and Lora Ann Millus, both of Mexia; 22 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were members of the Air Force Honor Guard.
