Freestone County, Texas Obits The Teague Chronicle - Jan. 17, 1919 edition In memory of Clementine Adkins On Sunday night, Dec. 29, 1918 one of the sweetest girls of the Dew community passed away. She leaves a father, mother, brother and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. This young life which brightened her home, the Sunday school and in fact the whole community for only sixteen short years was of a cheerful, modest disposition and was a devoted Christian. She was loyal to her friends and always had a kind word for everyone. She was so willing and anxious to take part in the Sunday school and Red Cross work. We see dear Clementine no more, but the memory still lingers. Dear parents do not look toward the grave in sorrow but with the eyes of faith look up where she is seen around the throne of God. She does not walk in the gloomy shadow of the dead but behold she is ever near you. Her sweet spirit is now with God who is everywhere to give comfort to those who mourn her. Clementine is forever free from the ills, the disappointments and the sorrows of this sinful world and is awaiting the dawn of the beautiful morning when you too shall behold the king in his beauty and be reunited with her and singing the praises of the blessed redeemer. Oh for a touch of a vanished hand, for the sound of a voice that is stilled, but some sweet day if we are faithful to our savior we shall touch the same soft hands and hear the same sweet voice sweeter _____(paper torn) when here on earth.
