Mack Roller officiating. Mrs. Wood was born Oct. 18, 1914 to Annie Laura Willard and Tom Robinson Bonner. She married Forrest Edwards Wood on Oct. 6, 1934. They were married for 62 years. Mrs. Wood attended the University of Texas and Texas State Women’s College in Arlington. She taught school at Young Community and Fairfield Elementary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was active in WMU. She belonged to and held offices in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996; brothers, Dr. Leslie Bonner, Edd Bonner and Hugh Bonner. She is survived by children, Sue Bonner Wood Wilson of Fairfield and Forrest Edward Wood Jr. of Hattiesburg, Miss.; a brother, Tom "Tuck" Bonner; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Funeral service was conducted at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield with Reverend Mack Roller officiating. Pallbearers were Mark Wilson, Bill Dalrymple, Eric Wood, Charlie Heinemann, Leslie Reid Bonner, Mike Bonner, Andy Bonner, Bill Bonner and Frank Bonner. Mrs. Wood was born in Bonnerville on October 18, 1914 to Annie Laura Willard Bonner and Tom Robinson Bonner. She was the second of five children and the only daughter. Mrs. Wood's nickname, "Baby Doll," was given when she was a baby and lasted a lifetime. Many people did not know what her real name was. Within the family, the name was shortened to "Babe," and nieces and nephews called her "Aunt Babe." Mrs. Wood married Forrest Edwards Wood on October 6, 1934. They were married for 62 years.
