 Obituary for Edward Ira Bailey Alford

Fairfield Recorder - Friday, Dec 9, 1887 Issue 
  Mr. Ed Alford, an old resident of our county, who has been living ten miles 
north-east of Fairfield, near Young, died Tuesday night from the effects of 
hemorrhage of the stomach.  He came to Freestone, from Calloway county, Kentucky, 
about 1852 and had been in permanent resident of the county since.  He was a good, 
quiet citizen and was well liked by his neighbors.  He leaves a wife and seven 
or eight children, besides other relatives, to mourn his death.
  The deceased was a brother of our townsman, Dr. J.R. Alford, and Mr. Aaron 
Alford, near Young.
