Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Donald Roy Allen (August 18, 1950 - April 29, 2014) Funeral Services for Donald Roy Allen will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 10:00am at Grace Tabernacle Church in Dew, Texas. Bro. Carl Clark will officiate and Bro. Lloyd Lane will give the Eulogy. Interment will follow the services at the Dew Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, with the family present from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Donald Roy (Pawpaw) passed away, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on August 18, 1950, to Leonard and Josie Allen. He was a lifetime resident of Dew Texas until he moved to San Antonio in 2004. He served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1976. Prior to moving to San Antonio, he was also a member of the Dew Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Susan Allen of San Antonio; three daughters, Shannon Solis of San Antonio, Carrie Chandler of Coranado, CA and Wendy Bricker of Mexia; six grandchildren, Tarin Gibson, Craig Allen, Colton Bricker, Xan Bricker, Kymber Solis and Rope Baker; seven great-grandchildren, Brett Allen-Bell, Christopher Bricker, Corry Allen, Nathan Allen, Hunter Gibson, Connor Gibson and Mason Allen; mother, Josie Allen Price; one sister, Rita Daniel & husband Mike; five brothers, Jerry Allen & wife Linda, Robert Allen & wife Debbie, Clyde Allen & wife Cynthia, Harold Allen & wife Tomi and Michael Allen & wife Joanna; numerous other relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Allen and one sister, Betty Willis. Donald was a loving husband, great father and an awesome Pawpaw. He never met a stranger and he was always willing to help out anyone he could. He will be forever missed, but never will he be forgotten.
