Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Matt Allen (September 2, 1970 - July 14, 2007) ======================== The Fairfield Recorder July 23, 2007 Matt Allen Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 17 in Teague for former Teague resident Matt Allen, 36, of Kaufman who died Saturday, July 14 at his residence. Mr. Allen was born in Wortham and grew up in Freestone county, where he attended Teague schools. He loved music, art and woodworking, and worked as a flooring installer specializing in laying hardwood floors. He was an avid fisherman, and a member of the Episcopal Church. Services were conducted at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague, and burial followed at Salem Cemetery. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Jennifer Allen of Kaufman; three children, Courtney, Justin and Alissa; his father, Jackie Allen and wife Judy of Forney; his mother, Nora Pickens and husband Jackie of Dew; a sister, Jennifer McClatchy of Teague; a niece, Stephanie of Teague; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one sister, Melissa Allen; paternal grandparents, Edgar William (Red) and Louise Allen; maternal grandparents, Roger and Dorothy Beene; and his great-grandparents, Barney and Irene Sallas.
