Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow at St. Elmo Cemetery in the St. Elmo/Winkler community. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Allen was born March 5, 1927 near Fairfield to parents Robert N. and Lillie Mae York Cannon. She married Thomas C. Allen on November 16, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 2005. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairfield, the Ruth Sunday School Class and the First Baptist Church Keenagers. In addition to her parents and husband she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tonja Vaughan on May 7, 2010; one brother, Willis Cannon and a sister, Eloise Davis. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Allen, Steve Allen, Tommy Allen, David Allen, Ricky Cannon and Buck Bonner. Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Allen. Mrs. Allen was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Left to cherish her memory is a son, Tony Allen and wife Jan of Fairfield; a son-in-law, David Vaughan of Fairfield; grandchildren, Gregory Allen and wife Shelly; Tona Lowery and husband Eddie Karrs; Bessie Lamb and husband Dale; Barry Vaughan and wife Robin; Quincy Allen; Kalop Allen and wife Kayla; eleven great-grandchildren.
