Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder newspaper Thursday June 1, 2006 F. E. Allison F. E. "Gene" Allison died May 22 at his home in Teague. Funeral services were held May 24 at First Baptist Church in Teague with Darell Beggs officiating; interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery. He was born April 19, 1932 in Teague and later moved to Houston. Mr. Allison graduated from Milby high school and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. During the Korean War he served in Monterey, California and Bremerton, Washington. Mr. Allison married Patricia Bailey on August 16, 1953 and they had been married almost 53 years. After his military service he moved back to Houston to work as a barber. In 1970 he returned to Teague and worked on Main Street for his uncle, Doyle Taylor. Mr. Allison opened his own shop in 1980 at 702 Cypress, where many children received their first haircuts. He was a member of First Baptist Church and is remembered as a loving father and husband. Surviving Mr. Allison are his wife Pat Allison; children Debbie Hamilton, Gail Griffin and husband Mike, Jeff Allison, Brad Allison and wife Angela of Teague, Patti Taylor and husband John of Fairfield and Natalie Persons and husband Kevin of Teague. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Stacie Aclin and husband Ken of Houston, Stephanie Teer and husband Bryan of Teague, Andrea Hamilton of College Station, LCOL, Josh Allison and fiancé Lori Hernandez and daughter Lorin of Groesbeck, Alex Hamilton and Jessica Griffin of Teague, Scott and Jake Taylor of Fairfield, Tyler Allison of Teague, Zac Taylor of Fairfield, Kinsey Persons of Teague, Tanner Freeman Allison of Teague and Kiley Persons of Teague; great grandson Griffin Prince of Teague. Finally he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Allison was preceded in death by his son Bobby Allison; parents Freeman and Ruby Allison; brother Wesley Allison and sister Reta Allison LuBow. Arrangements were by Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
