ALLISON, born to Gilbert and Jewel (West) Allison on June 9, 1925, went to his Heavenly Home on July 21, 2004 after a long and courageous battle against diabetes, emphysema, and asbestosis. P.R. served in the Navy in WWII, then returned to his studies at A&M, graduating with the Class of '46. His engineering degree served him well through his 42 years with various businesses. He retired in 1990 as President of Houston Fuel Oil. His interests then ran to cockatiels and their breeding. He owned and operated A&A Aviary until his health failed him. Paul Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Peggy; daughters: Cheryl Cunningham and Susan Rankin and husband Rick; grandchildren: Aron Haire, Seth and Taylor Rankin; sisters: Charlsie Brown and Clara Mayfield and husband Fred; 2 nieces as well as numerous friends and relatives. Mr. Allison is preceded in death by his son, Paul Jr. Services will be held at 1st Baptist Church of Teague, Texas at 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 24th.
