Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Submitted by Dana Stubbs [Note - August 26, 1953] [This is Ila Mary Anderson who died Aug 23, 1953] Mrs. Boone Anderson Services for Mrs. Boone Anderson, 84, a native Texan and a Winkler resident seventy-five years, were held from the St. Elmo Baptist Church. Burial was in the St. Elmo Cemetery. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Whitlock of Dallas, Mrs. Clyde Walker of Winkler and Mrs. Lenard Lee of Streetman, and a granddaughter. ========================================= Corsicana Daily Sun - August 26, 1953 Mrs. Anderson Services Monday Mrs. Boone Anderson, 84, a native Texan, died in the Navarro Clinic early Sunday morning after a long illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. from the St. Elmo Baptist Church with burial in the St. Elmo Cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. M.O. Sutherland, pastor of the Powell Baptist church, formerly of Streetman. A native of Polk County, Texas, Mrs. Anderson was born January 19, 1869. She had resided in the Winkler community 75 years and had been a member of the St. Elmo Baptist Church since childhood. Surviving are her husband of Winkler; three daughters, Mrs. Gene Whitlock of Dallas, Mrs. Clyde Walker of Winkler, and Mrs. Lenard Lee of Streetman, a granddaughter, Miss Mary Alice Lee, Winkler, and a number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Pallbearers were J. W. Phippes, Willie D. Pillans, Wayne Pillans, Bill Broun, Horace Grayson, Theron Bigham, Jester Neal, and Hallie Rash. Corley Funeral Home directed.
