Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Helen Kay (Strain) Anglin The Angelic Hosts came for Helen Kay Strain Anglin on Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at the Hillcrest Medical Center of Waco, among loving family and devoted friends. A viewing was held on Friday, December 30, 2011, at Moore's Angelic Funeral Home in Teague. Funeral services for Ms. Anglin were held on Saturday, December 31, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in Mexia, Texas. Rev. Vernon Busby and Elder H.V. Chambers, Sr. officiated. Interment followed the services at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mexia. Helen Kay Strain Anglin was the third child born to Oscar, Sr. and Willie P. Strain and was born in Freestone County, Texas. She grew up in Mexia and graduated from Mexia High School where she excelled in sports, especially the area of track and field. She received a number of awards for excellence in this area. Helen was baptized in the Alexander Chapel Primitive Baptist Church by Elder H.V. Chambers. Howard Anglin, Sr. and Helen were married in Limestone County and to this union two children were born. She later started a future with Charles Nash. This relationship ended in her death. For more than 16 years Helen was employed by Centex Arc in Mexia. She will be missed especially for her beautiful smile and her caring spirit. Helen was preceded in death by her father Oscar Strain, Sr.; her sons Jarvus Canady and Raylon Anglin and her sister Phyllis Chambers. Those who will cherish her memory most is her spouse Charles Nash; her sons Howard Anglin, Jr. and Kenyata and Caleb Hobbs all of Mexia; her daughter O'Koye Carter and Trey of Mexia; her loving mother Willie P. Strain; her sister Dorothy Strain Canady all of Mexia; her brothers Oscar Strain, Jr. of Winnsboro, Texas; her grandchildren Quanisha, Trevonn, Kiana, Trederek, Kamiyah, Montrell, and Dupree; four aunts and one uncle; her special friends Dolly Shepherd and the Centex employees; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Moore's Angelic Funeral Home of Teague is providing the professional services for the Anglin family.
