BRUTAL MURDER BY NEGRO WOMAN

Fessie Ash James, a negro woman is in jail charged with murder of her divorced
husband, James Ash in Teague last Sunday night. Ash's head was split open in
several places with an ax and had several stabb wounds in his throat and chest.
The woman confessed to the killing. The cause being jealousy. She had secured a
divorce from Ash and then married a negro named James. Secured a divorce from
James and claimed she was again to marry Ash. The killing occured in Ash's home
and it is presumed by some that he was asleep when attacked.
