Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper March 12, 2009 Frances (McCeig) Ayers Funeral services were held last month for former Fairfield resident Frances Ayers, 84, of Irving who died Wednesday, Feb. 25, in Texarkana, Arkansas. Mrs. Ayers was born in Lanely on July 31, 1924. She was a homemaker, retired daycare worker, and a charter member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church in Irving. Services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Brown's Memorial Chapel in Irving with Rev. Keith Cupples officiating. Interment followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas. Mrs. Ayers is survived by her daughters, Judy Campbell and husband Elmer of Garland, Joyce Mardis of Monroe, Louisiana, and Janet Odom and husband Daniel of Foreman, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Albert McCeig and Zella Pearl Callahan; and her husband of 62 years, John Ayers. Arrangements were made by Ben F. Brown's Memorial Funeral Home of Irving.
