Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [This is Etta Mae Owens, wife of Charles Albert Baber] Fairfield Recorder - Friday, September 17, 1926 edition MRS. C. A. BABER DIED MONDAY EVENING Mrs. C. A. BABER, who was bitten by a spider several weeks ago, died in a sanitarium at Palestine last Monday afternoon. From all accounts she suffered untold pain for many days before she had to succumb to the poison of this small insect. Mrs. BABER was the wife of C.A. BABER, who resides north of town a few miles and owns and operates a large farm. She held the respect of all who knew her and was a faithful worker in her church, as well as a devoted wife. She is survived by her husband and several relatives. Funeral services were conducted at Elkhart Tuesday. This was her old home and many of her friends from here attended the funeral.
