Freestone County, Texas Obituaries From Capps Funeral Home website: Kathleen (Malone) Badertscher October 9, 1928 - May 18, 2012 BIOGRAPHY Kathleen (Kathy) Badertscher, 83, of Fairfield, died Friday, May 18, 2012 in Fairfield. Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Corsicana with the Reverend Canon Edward R. Monk, SSC, officiating. Kathy was born October 9, 1928 in Dallas County; to parents Allen Bent and Charlotte Marinda Loper Malone. As a child she spent many summer vacation days staying with family and friends in Fairfield and Freestone County. Kathy had been a Freestone County resident since 1994 having moved from Dallas. She retired from Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas after 23 years of service as a benefits officer. She married Jack Badertscher on December 1, 1972 in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. Kathy was well known for her sewing skills. She was the founder of the Sew & Sew Sewing Circle of Kirvin and made lap quilts, bibs and other items that were donated to area nursing homes as well as the State School in Mexia. She was an avid “42” player and was a member of the “42” Club of Kirvin and St. Elmo. She was also a member of the Metro Texas Sam’s Travel Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a half sister and a half brother. Left to cherish her memory is her husband Jack of Fairfield; five children, Allen Gene Riddle and wife Carol; Margaret Rea and husband Bob of Granbury; Thomas Wesley Riddle and wife Danette of Kemp; Laura Lee Gutowski of Ft. Worth; Gary Riddle and wife Martha of Arlington; a sister Margaret Jean Parton of Pico Rivera, CA; eight grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great- grandchildren.
