Freestone County, Texas Obituaries THE TEAGUE CHRONICLE - 14 SEP 1917 edition In Memory of Luther Bain Luther Pleasant Bain was born near Alvin, Tx. Aug 4, 1893 and died near Round Rock, Tx. on Aug 23, 1917. He was reared principally near Cotton Gin. As a child he was lovable, pleasant and agreeable in youth, as a young man of clean morals. He was converted and joined the Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 12 years. His childish faith clung onto the father until he reached manhood. Then with a firmer grip it broadened into not only into the living faith but brought a vision to his soul and began to lay a foundation upon which he proposed to build for God. He pastored looking into the soul of his youthful member, his next thought stamped into the deep recesses of his heart and noble resolution to put God first in his life. Though took him into his confidence and made him his bosom friend and was fixing to work out those principles of righteousness that God has written on his heart. At the age of 17 Luther entered Baylor University and spent 3 years at the institution. During those years he duly accepted both students and teachers. It was during those college days while making his home with the lord that he came into our own lies and strengthen the ties of kinship so that not death could sever. That the Lord gave and he hath taken away. Thy will oh lord and not ours that must be done. The citizenry and the business circles in Waco and during his short career as a businessman he took it unto himself that he won the confidence and admiration of the businessman of his adopted city. He was married to Miss Pearl Haddack, daughter of Mr. Mrs. D.A. Haddack of New Hope Community on Sept. 8, 1916. Those eleven months of married life were so pleasant and happy that pen can not describe. So devoted was he that spared no effort to make the girl of his choice love life more day by day. The cause of his death was the result of the oncoming automobile accident. The machine was driven by his pastor, turned over twice, hurling its victim to death without a moments notice. Those of us who mourn shall feel grateful indeed that the fact that our loved one was sure and steadfast. As he lived so let us live. And in eternity we shall meet. To the grief stricken pastor whose machine ended the life of his dear friend we would offer the book of comfort. For you it would have been better for Luther to have remained but for him it was better for him to depart and to be with Christ. His Uncle
