Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Ada Louise (Mullen) Baker (28 Jan 1924 - 28 September 2012) Ada Louise Mullen Baker, 88, of Fairfield, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at E.T.M.C. Fairfield. Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Skinner and Pastor Robert Easterling officiating. Interment followed at Stewards Mill Cemetery. Ada Louise Mullen, affectionately known as “Nanie” was born January 28, 1924 in Freestone County, Texas, the second of nine children born to Clinton Mullen and Lucy Moore. She attended school at Mt. Zion and Fairfield High School graduating in 1941. She married Mac E. Baker on January 28, 1948. They lived most of their lives in Fairfield. Ada was a homemaker as well as helping her husband manage their business (Baker’s Texaco & Radiator Shop) and farming and ranching for many years. She also worked for the Fairfield Independent School District. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, gardening, dominos, and many board games. Ada was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church of Fairfield from age 13 until her death. She was also a member of The Order of Eastern Star of Fairfield where she held many offices during her 50 plus years membership including Worthy Matron. Ada served many years as Secretary/ Treasurer of the Antioch Cemetery Association working tirelessly to preserve the history of this cemetery. She loved helping other people whether relative, friend or simply someone in need and made it a goal in her life to serve other people. She was preceded in death by her husband Mac E. Baker, her parents Clinton and Lucy Mullen, two brothers, C.L. Mullen and Bowie Mullen and sisters Ida Minchew and Frances Harper. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Christine Easterling and husband Bill of Fairfield; Ludy Talley of Tyler and Mackie Bonner and husband Wayne of Lorena; three grandsons, Robert Easterling and wife Gena of Nacogdoches; James Easterling and wife Jennifer of Frisco; Phillip Talley of Southlake; three granddaughters, Tracy Schneider of Tyler; Jessica Bonner of Waco and Brandi Bonner of Livingston; one great-grandson, Joshua Easterling of Nacogdoches; five great-granddaughters, Erica Casaretto and husband Giovanni of Staten Island, NY; Brittany Easterling, Lauren Easterling, and Lindsay Easterling, all of Frisco; Kathleen Easterling of Nacogdoches; two great-greatgranddaughters, Jade Chand and Jordan Chand of San Antonio; one great-great-grandson, Christopher Casaretto of Staten Island, NY; two brothers, Deward Mullen and wife Margie of Frankston; Clois Mullen and wife Charlotte of Fairfield; two sisters, Mary Estes and husband Bob of Crandell and Nova Flowers of Fairfield. The family also gives special recognition to Judy McLerran and Catherine Ethridge for their love and friendship in caring for Mrs. Baker for many years.
