PEGGY DEAN (HAWKINS) BALLARD

Funeral services for Peggy Dean Ballard of Teague, 74, were held on Friday, July 24, 
2009, at Porter Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia. Interment followed the service at Mexia 
Cemetery in Mexia, Texas.

Peggy was born on March 25, 1935, to Elmer and Jennie V. Hawkins. She was married to 
Glynard (Buddy) Ballard on August 23, 1950, in Mexia, Texas. She passed away on 
Monday, July 20, 2009, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Patsy Hawkins, her 
father and mother-in-law Joe and Pauline Ballard and her sister-in-law Betty Moore as 
well as a grandchild and great grandchild.

She is survived by her children Elmer Ballard and wife Patti of Fairfield, Billy Ballard 
and wife Sue of Streetman, Susain Shaw and husband Herb of Normangee, Melvin 
Ballard and wife Lillian of Teague, Glyna Bridges and husband Blelve of Teague and 
Slinda Childers and husband Mickey of Teague; her grandchildren Phillip and Michele 
Ballard of Fairfield, Ethan and Gayelynn Ballard of Leander, Jeremy and Stephanie 
Ballard of Princeton, Jaymie and Nicole Ballard of Streetman, Misty and James Light of 
Hilltop Lakes, Jay Shaw of Dallas, Wendy and Richard Ross of Normangee, Jim and 
Amber Shaw of Normangee, Tiffany Ballard of Beaumont, Kaytie and Casey Story of 
Fairfield, Josh Kerzee of Santa Fe, Shea and Tim Thompson of Dew and Sammantha 
Childers and Evie Childers of Teague; her brother-in-law Joe (Sonny) Ballard and wife 
Panda of North Carolina; her sister-in-law Claudine Jones of Crowley, her sister Glenda 
Hall and husband Cleatus of Mexia; eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces, 
nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Ballard were Clint Coleman, Jay Shaw, Jim Shaw, Ethan Ballard, 
Jeremy Ballard, Jayme Ballard, Matthew Hall, Casey Story and Timothy Thompson.
