Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Mar. 2, 2005 edition Etherial Johnson Banks TEAGUE - Funeral services for Mrs. Etherial Johnson Banks, 89, of Teague, will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock in Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. E.O. Riley, pastor. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Moore's Angelic Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Banks, who formerly resided in Houston, worked there at Ben Taub Hospital, and also in Houston, had been employed with the Sheraton-Hilton Hotel. A member of Salem MBC, she had also been employed at McGee Nursing Home in Teague. A member of the Heroines of Jericho and the Magnolia Burial Club, she was born in Leon County on Aug. 14, 1915. Mrs. Banks died Saturday in Palestine Regional Hospital. Surviving are seven sons - Edward Banks and wife Doris of Dallas, Maurice Banks of Teague, Curtis Banks and wife Lelia of Dallas, Chauncy Banks and wife Hazel of DeSoto, Raymond Banks of Houston, McKialey Banks of Houston and Urban Banks of Teague; four daughters, Christine Yeldell and husband Billy of Dallas, Jennell Banks of Houston, Creoler Kirksey and Sybil Burrell and husband Bobby of Teague; a sister, Eugenia Scott of Houston; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
