Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder December 03, 2007 Maurice Banks Funeral services were held Saturday in Teague for Maurice Banks, 68, formerly of the Salem Community in Teague. Mr. Banks died Nov. 13 in Rowlette among friends and family members. Services were led by Rev. E.O. Riley, pastor, and evangelist Berna Banks at Salem Baptist Church. Viewing was Friday at the funeral home. Interment was at Salem Cemetery. Mr. Banks attended Booker T. Washington high school in Teague and was a member of the Baptist Church. He had been employed with Teague Brick and Tile Co., and San Antonio Roofing Co. Survivors are wife Ruby Banks of Dallas, son Terris Banks and wife Patrese of Rockwall, brothers Edward Banks and wife Doris of Dallas, Curtis Banks and wife Lela of Dallas, Chauncy Banks and wife Hazel of DeSoto, Raymond Banks of DeSoto, McKinley Banks of Houston and Urban Banks of Teague; Sisters Christene Yeldell and husband Billy of Dallas and Sybil Burrell and husband Bobby of Teague; aunts Eugenia Scott of Teague and Mary Liza Banks of Dallas, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
