Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Sep. 23, 2003 edition BILLY BARKER Billy Barker, 59, a lifetime resident of the Mexia area, died Monday in Methodist Medical Center-Dallas. He was born March 13, 1944, in Corsicana, was a member of Temple Baptist Church and for many years had been an Automobile Technician and mechanic. Mr. Barker was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Nettles. Funeral services for Mr. Barker will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Temple Baptist Church. The Rev. Bobby Baldree, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery, under direction of Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home-Mexia. Memorials may be made to the Heart Transplant Center-Dallas, at the Methodist Medical Center. Visitation is scheduled for this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the funeral home. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn (Sandy) Barker of Mexia; a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Kim Barker of Whitehouse; a daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Brian Parson of Mexia; six grandchildren - Tyler Barker of Wortham, Brooke, Blaze, Brittany, Aimee and Grace Parson, all of Mexia; a sister, Ginger Pfeiffer of Waco; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Jason Garner, Randy Garner, Charlie Bowman, George Westover, Kevin Hays, Chris Hays, David Williams, Tommy Lloyd and Michael Bell. Designated as honorary pallbearers are Warner Hancock and Rodger Cotton.
