Mr. Barnes died Saturday at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. ========================================= The Teague Chronicle - May 17, 2007 edition ROBERT JAMES BARNES Funeral services for Robert James Barnes,77, of Teague, Formerly of Buffalo, will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at First Street Holland Baptist Church in Buffalo, Texas. Burial will follow the services at Sand Hill Cemetery in Buffalo. Mr. Barnes passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at East Texas Medical Center in Fairfield, Texas. Mr. Barnes was born on May 10, 1930, in Oakwood, Texas to Robert and Fannie Smith Barnes. He was the second of two children. Robert was raised in Buffalo and attended G.B. Bennett High School in Buffalo, Texas. He accepted Christ into his life as a child and united with First St. Holland Baptist Church. He was a life member. Mr. Barnes worked as a barber and a Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Bobby Joe Barnes, Marium James Barns and his sister Nannie Hopkins Johnson. He is survived by his daughters Rita Smith of Lubbock, Patricia Barnes Hurvey and husband Carl of Austin, Darlene Jones and husband Darrell of Teague, his daughter-in-law Paula Barnes of Sacramento, California, eight grandchildren: Heather Barnes, Monique Barnes, Khiri Brackens, Jazmyn Owens, Kalen Owens, K'Dron Owens, Montrey Smith, Antwain Smith, his great grandchild Ke'Shawn Smith-Sanders, his special nephew Jeffery Hopkins, a host of other relatives and friends. Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
