Mary Jane Baty

Mary Jane Baty was born Jan. 30, 1855 and departed this life Jan. 22, 1918.
Just as the sun was going down her body was lowered into the grave amidst a
crowd of sorrowing friends and children. She was a member of the Baptist Church
at Luna and had for years been a devoted Christian. She leaves 8 children to
weep for her. Weep not as those who have no hope for mother will be waiting at
the gate when you come. All of her children lived near Luna and Freestone
except for Dr. E.I.I. Baty who resides in Tehuacana. Elder J.L. Walker
conducted the funeral services at Union cemetery Jan 23, 1918.
