Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Griffin-Roughton Home Jaime E. Bautista - Fairfield Jamie E. Bautista, 95, resident of Fairfield passed away on July 25, 2009 at East Texas Medical Center of Fairfield. He was born on April 18, 1914 in Papanaque, Philippines. Visitation will be held on Monday afternoon from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield with Father Deraraj Arulappa officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairfield Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his wife Gregoria Bautista in 1996. Son in laws Benedicto Sarmiento, Solito Torres. Survivors include his children: Gertrudes B. Sarmiento, Norma B. Torres, Norma B. Jalina and husband Salvador Jalina, Jaime M. Bautista Jr. and wife Natividad Bautista, and Robert m. Bautista and wife Priscila Bautista. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was employed by Pan American Airlines stationed at Wake Island in the early 1950's until his retirement. He immigrated to the United States with his son Robert on June 4, 1977. Jamie was employed by the Fairfield Independent School District as a maintenance person at Fairfield Elementary in the late 70's and early 80's. He was a member of the St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church in Fairfield and was a well liked and reserved individual who got along with everyone. Elbert Daniel - Fairfield Elbert Dwayne Daniel was born on April 21, 1923 in Dew, Texas to John Elbert Daniel and Thelma Bradshaw Daniel, and passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at his residence at the age of 86. He returned to Freestone County in 1991 after retirement from General Dynamics in Fort Worth after 37 years. He was ordained as a Deacon at Ridglea West Baptist Church in 1970. Elbert served as a Deacon at Northside Baptist Church in Corsicana, Cornerstone Baptist Church in Fairfield, and First Baptist in Buffalo were he became inactive due to his age and health in 2004. He was preceded in death by is parents John Elbert Daniel and Thelma Bradshaw Daniel and one brother Doyle Daniel. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marie Rash Daniel. Children: Barbara Soule' of Itasca, Linda Denton of Dew, and Joe and Pam Daniel of Lexington, Texas. Sixteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and wonderful friends. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Eureka Cemetery in Navarro County.
