Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle February 7th, 2008 HARRY W. “BILL” BEAVER Funeral services for Mr. Bill Beaver, 80, were held on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home in Jewett. Bro. Robert Read and Rev. Rich Cromwell officiated and interment followed the services at Sardis Cemetery. Mr. Beaver passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Parkivew Regional Hospital in Mexia. Mr. Beaver was born and raised in West Virginia. He was a chemical engineer and went to work for E.I. DuPont where he traveled all over the world. He also worked for other petroleum companies during his career before retiring in 1982. He married Arlene on March 18, 1950, and shared almost fifty-eight years together. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver have lived in Jewett on and off since 1968. Mr. Beaver was an active member of the Jewett United Methodist Church. He was instrumental in starting a Boy Scout Troop at the Jewett United Methodist Church and was very active with the Methodist Men. He also was a member of the Jewett Area Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife Arlene Beaver of Jewett; his brother Robert L. Beaver, Sr. of Greenville, South Carolina; his special nieces and nephews Carolyn Keiffer and husband Lee of Sugarland, Robert L. Beaver, Jr. and wife Gail of Jackson, Georgia and Charles McCallister of Raleigh, North Carolina and numerous special friends. Mr. Beaver was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
