Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Bobbie Murl Bell] Fairfield Recorder December 23, 2010 BOBBIE MURL BELL Funeral services were held Wednesday at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague for Bobbie Murl Bell, 80, of Teague who died Dec. 18 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Interment followed at Salem Cemetery near Teague. Mr. Bell was born in Freestone county on Sept. 25, 1930 to Doyle and Pauline Bell, but was raised by his maternal grandparents, Thad and Adas Meredith. When Mr. Bell was 17 years old, he quit school and joined the Marine Corp. On April 10, 1950 he married Bonnie D. Smith. Mr. Bell served in Korea during the Korean War and served as a Drill Instructor from 1958-1959. In 1959 he was honorably discharged. After his service, he worked as a farmer and drove a truck in Teague from 1959- 1985. After he retired from Central, he moved back to Teague and was a cattle rancher from 1985-2010. Mr. Bell was a long time member of the Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Teague. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents; and brother Joe K. Bell. Mr. Bell is survived by his wife Bonnie D. Bell of Teague; daughter Margaret Tree of Texas City; sons Bobby D. Bell of Teague, James R. Bell and wife Carla of Mart, and John K. Bell and wife Margarita of Teague; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other family and friends. Officiating services was Jack McDaniel. Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
