BENNETT

LLOYD JASON "JAKE" BENNETT, the son of Charles Walker and Minnie Alpha Ballew 
Bennett, was born June 4, 1919, Teague, TX and died Thursday evening, Nov. 20,
2003 in Houston. 

A veteran of the Pacific Theater, WWII, he was retired from Houston Lighting &
Power Co. where he was employed as a mechanical engineer and purchasing agent
for 44 years. 

He is survived by his wife, 

Vernie Smith Bennett; 4 children, Jason Douglas Bennett and wife Sheila, Patty 
Bennett McGinty and husband Tom, Brenda Bennett and husband Charlie Swenson,
and Lloyd Rex Bennett and wife Carol, all of the Houston area; 7 grandchildren,
Heath Douglas Bennett and wife krista, Katie McGinty Shumate and husband 
Hayne, Tim McGinty, Carrie Lynne Bennett Ward and husband Aaron, Brandon 
Swenson, Zachary Bennett, and Veronica Bennett; and 4 great grandchildren, 
Griffin, Heath Jr., and Pearce Bennett, and Duncan Shumate; and 1 sister, Mrs.
C.H. (Louise) Stripling of Jacksonville, Texas and numerous nieces and 
nephews. 

A graveside service is planned at Forest Park Lawndale.
