The Fairfield Recorder -  Friday, September 17, 1897

   Mr. Walter Bennett of Young, died rather unexpectedly in Fairfield last 
Thursday night about midnight. He had been troubled a few weeks with a rising in 
his head, and had been brought here for more convenient medical treatment, and 
was staying at Mrs. Huckaby’s. He was getting on well that day, but unexpectedly
that night he became suddenly worse and died about midnight. The deceased was a 
young man about 26 years old, a son of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Bennett, near Young.
His death is a great bereavement to his parents and family, and they have the 
sympathy of many friends in the loss of their oldest son and brother.
