Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mr. Elzie Bennett The Angelic Hosts came for Elzie Bennett on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in The Wesbury Place, Houston, Texas among loving family and devoted friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Moore’s Angelic Funeral Chapel, 406 Monroe Street, Teague, Texas with the viewing from 10:00 a.m. -10:45 a.m. The family has requested a Closed Casket Service with Rev. Clifford Estell McIlveen officiating. Interment will be in the Silent Grove Cemetery, Cheneyboro, Texas, Navarro County with Military Funeral Honors. Mr. Bennett grew up in Streetman, Texas, the son of Terry F. Bennett and Pearlie Jacobs Bennett. He was baptized in the Tehuacana Grove Baptist Church of Streetman and was also a member of the St. John Baptist Church in Dallas. Elzie graduated from Dogan High School, Fairfield, Texas with the Class of 1962, attended El Centro College of Dallas and was a Micro Film Supervisor with K.P.M. G. Peat Marwick, CPA before his retirement. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army on June 20, 1972. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by: His parents; Two brothers: Tommy Swanson and Edison Bennett; and A sister: Margie Bennett Mills. He leaves to cherish his memory: Two brothers: Terry Orville Bennett and wife, Marjorine of Dallas, TX and Aubrey Bennett and wife, Joyce of Houston, TX; Two sisters: Hattie Johnson of Houston, TX; and Ruby McIlveen and husband, Clifford of Sugarland, TX; His God-son: Patrick Sebastian Hudnell of Houston, Texas; A sister-in-law: Loratha Bennett of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
