Leonard Best

Leonard Best, 75, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, June 29, 1998, in Fairfield.

Services are 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, with 
Rev. Mark Woodward officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Joel Lane, David Lott, Sam Bournias, Lyle Red, Roy Casey 111, 
and Duane McBride.

Mr. Best was born in Maxwell on Jan. 25, 1923. He spent 20 years as a civilian 
employee for the Air Force, then 25 years as a telephone employee, retiring from 
Contel. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fairfield.

Mr. Best is survived by his wife, Virginia Best of Fairfield; daughter and son-
in-law, Pat and Raymond Sypert of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and 
Kathy Best of Fairfield; and four grandchildren.

Mr. Best was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Grace Best and his parents.
