Freestone County, Texas Obits Houston Chronicle newspaper - 9/29/2006 edition BIGGS The sun has set on one of God's Angels. FERN MARY (MAYNARD) BIGGS passed away on March 29, 2004 at the age of 90. She was born on March 19, 1914 in Franklin, LA. to William and Marie (French) Maynard. Fern grew up in Beaument, Texas where she graduated from St. Anthony High School. She married Bilbo Biggs on October 15, 1945 in Houston, Texas. After marriage her and her husband lived in Oakwood, Palestine, Fairfield and Houston. Fern retired and moved to Lake Thunder in Smithville, TX in 1975. She was a member and supporter of the St Paul's Catholic Church in Smithville and was a former Board Director member at Lake Thunderbird. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bilbo Biggs, her parents and two brothers: Creighton C. and Hayden Maynard. Fern is survived by: a niece, Nancy Maynard Irle and husband James D. of Friendsward, TX; one nephew, Creighton C. Maynard, Jr. and wife Glenda of Fort Worth; two great nieces, Daniella Irle of New Orleans, LA; Kimberly Maynard of Fort Worth; and two great nephews, Creighton C Maynard, III of Weatherford and Patton E Maynard of Fort Worth. A Rosary will held at 7:00 pm Wednesday at Marrs-Jones Funeral Home and Funeral Mass 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Smithville. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Thursday at Oakwood Cemetery in Oakwood, Texas. Arrangements made by Marrs-Jones Funeral Home Smithville, Texas.
