OBITUARY

Oda Alice (Furguson) Black

Oda Alice Black, 86, of Fairfield passed away Friday, March 23, 2001 at East
Texas Medical Center in Fairfield. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Capps
Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Terry Skinner of Calvary Baptist Church in
Fairfield officiating. Interment will follow at Dew Cemetery. Pallbearers will
be friends and family.

Mrs. Black was born Sept. 25, 1914 in Jefferson County, Okla. to Samuel and
Lula Furguson. She was a retired telephone company operator. She was a member
of Calvary Baptist Church in Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dovard Black; daughter, Bobbie Jo
Black; and sister, Juanita Black. Mrs. Black is survived by her brother,
Samuel Lewis Furguson Jr. and wife Elaine of Overton; sister, Elizabeth Speed
of Fairfield; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
